TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION is a normative technical document that establishes a set of requirements to certain types of products, brands and identification numbers. Technical specification is developed on the basis of existing standards.
Specification is a technical document developed by decision of a designer (manufacturer) or on request of a customer (consumer) of products. Specification makes an essential part of design or technical documents. If no other documents are available specification must contain a full number of requirements to product, its production, control and acceptance. Specification is developed for one certain product, material, substance or several certain products, materials or substances etc. (in this case Russian Classification number is indicated for each product, material etc.). Specification requirements must not conflict with mandatory requirements of state (intergovernmental) standards for this product. Specification is to conform to GOST 2.114-95. It states that specification must consist of introduction and sections arranged in the following order:
- technical requirements;
- safety requirements;
- environment control requirements;
- rules of acceptance;
- control methods;
- transportation and storage;
- operation directions;
- manufacturer's warranty.
Specification number consists of 4 parts:
Front and index pages of specification are sealed and marked by a registering organization. Specifications can be registered only by regional organizations accredited by the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology, such as "Rostest-Moscow”.
