Voluntary certification is held in accordance with the Russian Federation Law about “On Certification of Products and Services” and initiated by applicants (manufacturers, sellers, executors). Its aim is to prove conformity of products (services) to requirements of standards, specifications, formulas and other documents, defined by the applicant. Voluntary certification is held on terms of agreement between the applicant and the certification body.
Voluntary certification can not replace obligatory certification in case of products subjected to obligatory certification. Nevertheless, after obligatory certification products can undergo voluntary certification for additional requirements.
