Certificate of conformity – is a document issued according to the common rules of certification system. It assures that certified products conform to established requirements, existing standards and regulations (GOST, GOST-R, GOST-R IEC, GOST-R ISO etc.). Availability of certificate helps customers to make a competent choice of products and serves as a quality guarantee.
GOST-R Certificate of conformity can be issued only by an organization with certification body reference. This reference has its run of validity and is signed by the chef of Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology. Certification body reference is made on a numbered form protected from forgery containing the name of legal entity and its address. Certification activities are held in accordance with the sphere of reference, which is indicated in attachment to the reference.
To assure conformity of a certain product (service) it’s necessary to submit requirements established it the normative document and give proper proofs of its safety. If conformity is to be assured by the first party proofs should be collected by the manufacturer (executer). If necessary it can be done my means of a third party (e.g. certification body of quality systems or testing laboratory). The third party must collect the proofs if it issues conformity documentation.
GOST-R Certificate of conformity for explosionproof equipment
According to the Russian Legislation explosion proof equipment is represented by products fully or partially used with electric power and having one or several types of explosion protection for the conditions of potentially explosive atmosphere.
To undergo effectively the process of certification for some types of products the equipment must be tested in testing laboratory for the purpose of correlation of technical characteristics and electric constructions with the established demands of human and environmental security. The decision regarding issuance of GOST –R certificate of conformity for explosion proof equipment is taken on the grounds of tests reports, examination of technical papers and data about an applicant provided by GOST-R accredited certification body.
There exists the following peculiarity in GOST-R certification system: if the product is subject to sanitary-hygienic examination and state registration, the certificate of conformity will be given only if both documents are available. The number of state registration is indicated in GOST-R Certificate of conformity.
Certification can be both obligatory and voluntary. (NOMENCLATURE OF PRUDUCTS SUBJECT TO OBLIGATORY CERTIFICATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH LEGISLATIVE ACTS OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION):
Obligatory certificate is issued on a yellow blank it is the so-called “yellow certificate”.
Voluntary certificate is issued on a blue form “blue certificate”. This type of certificate is for objects not included in Lists of products subject to obligatory certification. Such products can be certified on a voluntary basis.
